Fundraising for Brighton University 3D Design and Craft students to exhibit at New Designers in London, led to me thinking creatively about how we could stand out from other similar events.
Glazed was a collective of 3D designers and craftspeople that incorporated a professional exhibition experience alongside live music events.
I collaborated with Red Bull to host the event. This was a great opportunity to work with experts in events management, and also to push the boundaries of what we wanted to achieve with Glazed.
As part of the event, local business owners, alumni and the media were invited to attend. This gave design students an opportunity to network outside of the normal academic environment, and introduce their work to professionals who may not be aware of the local young designers within the city.
Glazed took place in Brighton in November 2016, and has been ongoing since, with two further events over the past two years.
